Another major airport is Long Beach Airport (LGB), which has domestic flights from Long Beach and is 27 miles from Rosemead. There are several hospitals near Rosemead including Greater El Monte Community Hospital (3 miles), Alhambra Hospital Medical Center (3 miles), and Garfield Medical Center (4 miles). The local college is University of the West with 107 full time enrolled students, but also only 5 miles away is the University of Southern California with 30,578 full time enrolled students.

Rosemead has many attractions, including The Dinsmoor Heritage House, which is a bijou museum that houses, preserves and displays a showcase of the colorful and rich history of the City of Rosemead. The city also has two aquatic centers: Rosemead Aquatic Center, located in Rosemead Park, features swim, water polo and diving facilities as well as swim classes and recreation areas. Garvey Aquatic Center is a state of the art recreational aquatic facility featuring water slides, interactive play areas and a lesson pool. There are also a number of parks including Garvey Park and Rosemead Park. Also a small portion of the Montebello Town Center is actually located within Rosemead city limits. It features major department stores, smaller shops and a small food court.
